Are you ready for a new year of Tuesday Night Twilights! Well hold onto your saddles, we’ve got the dates planned and ‘secured’ according to the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds. I have not signed the contract yet, but should get it in the next couple of days and we will hopefully be on our way to a new summer of racing.
So officially/unofficial the dates are:
April 6th, 13th and 27th
May 4th, 18th and the 25th is tentative
June 1st, 22nd and 29th
No races in July due to the fair, but I will see about getting an alternate site for these dates
August 17th, 24th, and 31st
September 7th (final race of the summer)
I am working on the permit with USAC and putting the flyer together which I’ll submit to NCNCA to be added to the racing schedule once approved. So for now things are moving along. If I can secure an alternate location for the dates that we are missing, I will try my best to do so.
A little bit of business!
Utility Trailer:
I am looking into purchasing a trailer for the equipment. Although I had a boat trailer donated to the TNTs, it looks like it might be just too much work to get it where it needs to be, and would take too much volunteer time and effort. So I will be as frugal as possible, but I am looking at a new 6x12 utility trailer with 24” walls.
TNT Policies:
I figured it was about time to put some true policies in place so that each racing season, we’re not making things up as we go. I put these 2010 Tuesday Night Twilights Policies together that outline volunteering and vouchers, fee’s, refunds and contributions to outside entities such as the SCBC.
Volunteers:
I will most likely be calling on volunteers to help with getting the course equipment up to par, I noticed some of the equipment was starting to get loose and some bolts were missing etc etc. And of course we’ll need all you amazing volunteers for course marshaling, and setup/tear-down.
Keep checking back for more updates!

USAC Permit:
I’ve applied and paid for the permit, just need to sign it and send it in.
Fairgrounds contract:
Modifications are being made to the contract, I’m waiting on those before I sign. I also noticed another 2 days in the contract 5/25/10 is a tentative date, but we have 6/1/10 for sure. Keeping in mind that even with a contract they could bump us for a client willing to pay more for the same date. They will give us notice if this happens and I will update facebook and this website asap when/if it happens. Always make sure to check these places prior to driving to the crits if you are coming from out of the area.
Donations:
I have contacted Marmot to see if they might be interested in helping with product donations for primes and/or winnings. If anyone has any contacts that could help out in this area it would be really helpful.
Equipment:
Rich Desmond (Colavita), Star Stevenson (2Wheel Racing) and Richard Stone are spear heading the building of barricades. Rich is trying to get materials donated, and Richard is donating materials and is going to help with building them. Colavita and the TNTs are working together to build enough so that we can share the use of the equipment for future races. Jerry Roach (City Employee) is going to provide a template. Anyone willing and able to assist would be thanked profusely!
Will need to buy all new vests since all of ours have been lost!
New Policies:
Don’t forget to read them, see the link below!
Reminders:
Save and reuse your race numbers, checks are made out to TNT or Tuesday Night Twlights, volunteers are loved and are a must to make this all happen!
