Well....how did we do?  Here’s what some people said Norcalcyclingnews.com

We got all our paperwork for permits with USA Cycling submitted.  We paid the Fairgrounds for the 3 dates, we completed our first event and we had one crash.

Upon our walk through with the Fairgrounds superintendents, we pointed out debris and obstacles that they immediately took care of.  They were so accommodating it was simply amazing.  During the races there were several cars reported on the course.  I called the superintendents and not long after got a call that they were putting up caution tape and barricades to keep the cars from the Golf course from driving through onto our course,  usually they have a fence, and promised the fence would be back up next week.

I hope the parking, and registration were easy to find.

The juniors race was a hit.  I purchased ColdStone gift cards for the winners of the junior race, hopefully they were pleased.

Primes kept coming in right and left, and I stopped by several bike shops on Thursday and picked up a heap of gift cards.  Thank you to everyone for being so generous.  And a special thanks to Jeanette Cozza for her $50.00 contribution.

Setup and tear-down seemed to be quick.  Thank you to all that helped course marshal, setup, tear-down, drive the burb to the warehouse and unload the trailer.  Thank you to Pete for helping me pick up the trailer. A special thanks to Richard Stone and all he’s done for us.

Attendance was low, but I think the word will spread now that we’ve had one race under our belts.  I hope that everyone liked the course.  If you have idea’s or concerns, please let me know.

If anyone found a water bottle and saddle bag left behind, it belongs to one of the Swifties, please let Laura Charmeda or myself know.

As always, we can use volunteers for setup, tear-down and course marshaling.  It’s better to have more than not enough.

See you on Tuesday...

Reminder...the Boba’s Chellino Valley TTT is on Sept. 8th, 6:00pm

Well, one more TNT to go.  No crashes this week and the attendance was up, coming from Marin, San Francisco and up North.

Thanks to all who came to race, thank you to all who volunteered, Lisa and Bruce for helping out with registration, to the setup/teardown crew and to the Marshals.  And of course to Tim for our bales of straw and Frank for officiating. I need to get my license, should be in January, then I can give Frank a break. And of course thank you to everyone that has so generously contributed to our primes.  Oh and a big thank you to Sean O’Leary for not only driving the truck/trailer, but helping load, setup and teardown, and to June for the pizza for the teardown crew.  You all ROCK!

Everyone still seems to like the course.  I know everyone is asking “What’s next, is this our home now?”  Well, we’re not 100% sure, and we need to keep our options and eyes open.  I will keep you all updated as to how this will all shake out.  For sure there will be TNT’s next year, so don’t worry.

Rich Pepper donated a women's Gearheart jersey ($69 value) for the first woman across the line in the race that gets the highest femme turnout, be it race 1,2,3 or 4.  Of course that didn’t make it easy for me if there were 2 women in two races.  So, thanks to Frank and his awesome officiating, we awarded the jersey to Claire McKenna, she races at the college level and her waiver indicated she was from NH?

The jersey was well deserved, she raced in the 3/4 race and was pretty much on her

own the entire time, and never gave up.  It was a perfect fit and she was thrilled, congratulations and thank you Richard.

The juniors were off at 5:30 and this time the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners all got movie tickets.  John Lucas and John Crean were awarded most aggressive riders, but never came to get their winnings.  And this time the juniors raced for  3 primes Open, 14 and under, and 15 and up.

Here are the Race Results and Race Statistics

Just a reminder that I will not be at the last race but will be thinking about you in-between Sheryl Crow songs.  And I’ll make sure everything is ready for all of you to race.

Sarah Trejo and I are going to try to plan a pot luck, volunteer and sponsor appreciation party.  Hopefully we can try to get something going in late October or November.  Anyone wanting to help plan, give us a ring.  Richard Stone has offered the use of one of their warehouses.

9/18/09

The end of the racing season is nearing and the final TNT for the season has come and gone.

Everyone loved the course and seemed to enjoy the racing.  We had great turn outs for a new course with some new faces.  Thank you all for coming.

As usual all of our prime sponsors/contributors came through with some great primes.  Thank you all for your support and your generosity.

Thanks to all the volunteers who came out each day to help with setup, tear-down, course marshaling and registration, loading and unloading the equipment, helping me with the trailer and driving the Burb.  A huge thanks to Richard Stone for housing us. And also thank you to those that baked bread and brownies.

The races wouldn’t have happened without each and every one of you giving of your time and providing us with products.  Hat’s off!!!

Here are the Race Results and Race Statistics for the final TNT.

I’m hoping by next season we’ll have a dedicated trailer for the equipment, and that we’ll not have equipment ownership conflicts any longer.

I miss the TNTs and all of you already and can’t wait until next season.

Be safe!
