<p><strong>Hey all you TNTers!!! We&#8217;re close, April 3rd is our first race.  We&#8217;re getting ready, are you?</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Here are the dates for this summer&#8217;s series of races:</p>
<p>April 3, 10 and 24</p>
<p>May 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29</p>
<p>June 19, and 26</p>
<p>July 10</p>
<p>August 21, 28</p>
<p>September 4</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The women&#8217;s race will be held as it was last year, it will start at 5:30 just after the juniors take off!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>We also need prime and winning donations, if you can sponsor the races by bringing product or finding someone that would like to donate that would be awesome.  It would be great to get wine and beer again, and maybe coffee and bread, would be nice to get that back!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Remember, rain most likely cancels the event!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>And a couple of friendly reminders:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Please do not warm up in the parking lot across the street (we want to stay in good standings with the fairgrounds)</li>
<li>Please keep the bathrooms clean</li>
<li>Please save your race numbers and bring them each time you race</li>
<li>Please bring your racing license to the first race that you will be participating in so we can validate the number and expiration</li>
<li>Bring money (ha)</li>
</ul>

<p>Thanks for the great turn outs, and for not warming up in the Brookwood Parking lot.</p>
<p>I love seeing all those juniors, and the great turn out for the Beginner Women&#8217;s Race.</p>
<p>We&#8217;re in full swing and even though the nights get chilly, we have been able to avoid the rain.</p>

<p>I know there aren&#8217;t as many this year due to the &#8216;fair&#8217; at the fairgrounds, but maybe next year we can get them filled in at another location.</p>

<p>So here&#8217;s the plan for this week (tomorrow):</p>
<div>This Tuesday (and potentially more to come) we are going to offer a Women&#8217;s Introductory clinic &amp; race to all women who have raced between 0 and 10 races. If you have done 10 or more races, you will race with the category 4/5 race,</div>
<div>but are strongly encouraged to participate in the pre and post race discussions.&nbsp;</p>
<p>You will be mentored by our very own All Sport &#8211; Team Swift coach Laura Charameda, and working with Mariko Fischer of Echelon Cycle &amp; Multisport, as well as other mentors that help with racer development.</p>

<div>The race is 20 minutes long and will be a way for you to learn the etiquette of racing in a group, cornering, safety, and much more. This is a new offering for 2011, and if the response is enthusiastic enough, we will continue to grow the Women&#8217;s race!!</div>
<div><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>All Newbie  women racers MUST be registered and race ready by 5:05PM and meet at the start line to be a part of the clinic discussion.</strong></span>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Race Schedule for the women:<br />
<strong>5:05PM</strong> &#8211; Clinic discussion and then we will all do warm up together<br />
<strong>5:30-5:50</strong> Race for Women who have done 10 or fewer races (<strong>you will be racing just after the juniors start their race</strong>)<br />
<strong>6-6:30 </strong>Race with category 4/5 for Women who have done 10 or more races (<strong>this is more advanced, if you do this race please be sure you race at the back with a MENTOR</strong>)<br />
<strong>6:30-7:00</strong> Post Race Meeting for those who would like to attend</p>

<p>Reminder, there is <strong>no race next week on April 19th</strong>, but we will be back on the 26th, well I won&#8217;t.  I&#8217;ll be in New Mexico!</p>

<p>As most of you know I will be traveling pretty frequently this year so I have put a team of awesome people together to help keep the TNTs fun and exciting!</p>

<p><strong>NEW Women’s Introductory Race:</strong></p>

<p><strong>Volunteers:</strong></p>
<p>I have put together a process that we hope will help gather our volunteers each week.  There is a google docs spreadsheet that lists all the volunteers who have signed up either on an individual basis or through their club team that will be monitored each week to determine if we need more people.  There’s always room for more help of course, but right now the plan for marshal’s are; Red Peloton (turn 3),  Collective (turn 2), Boba’s (turn 1) this will be their ‘weekly’ duty.  All Sport-Team Swift, Colavita, Echelon, Red Peloton, Collective and the Boba’s will provide a person from each of their teams to ensure that we have someone to help marshal, setup and tear-down of equipment and straw, a runner for the results sheet, someone to ensure the bathrooms are clean and any other duties needed to run the crits.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Day Light Savings Time:</strong></p>
<p>Our summer series of races will begin on April 5th at our normal race times:</p>
<p>Juniors, 20 minutes,  beginning at 5:30</p>
<p>Cat 4-5, 30 minutes, beginning at 6:00</p>
<p>Cat 3-4, 35 minutes, beginning at 6:35</p>
<p>Pro123, 45+/- minutes, beginning at 7:10</p>
<p>In order to keep the race times consistent, the longer races may be cut short by 5 minutes at the discretion of Frank our official so that the racers of the final race will not be racing in the dark.  If this is the case it should only be for the April 5th and April 12th dates and only the 3rd and 4th races will be shortened.  Please be understanding if YOUR race is cut a little short.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Straw:</strong></p>
<p>We will have a bit less straw on the course this year.  Tim Campbell of Friendly Feed is generously donating straw again and Neil Martin has donated a small trailer to transport the straw.  Tim has been our straw supplier for over 20 years and has advised us of the most critical locations for the straw.  Thank you Tim and Neil for your support. Team Colavita will host the Apple Pie Criterium at the Corporate Center again this year and will be using insulation vatts.  They will inform us if the insulation is a success or not, this might be an additional option for us to combine with the straw, or use in lieu of straw.</p>
